POTTER: Nathan Begaye

VESSEL FORMS: Bowls, jars

DESIGN STYLES: Natural colors on white, buff, yellow, orange, red, and green. Parrot, serpent, feathers.

COMMENTS:

Active: 1970 to present

Drawing from both Navajo and Hopi cultures, Nathan uses Navajo Yeis, like the work of Navajo potter

Lucy Leuppe Mc Kelvey. He also makes Sikyatki  revival or Hano polychrome wares plus Anasazi style Black-on-Whites.

High quality, fine line painting and a diversity of sytyles makes Nathan Begaye a highly collectable Native American artist.
