TYPE: Mimbres Corrugated

DATE: A.D. 1000 to 1150 (Shafer, 2003;186)

KEY DIFFERENCES: Mimbres Corrugated begins as a spiral coil starting at the center bottom and spiraling all the way to the rim.  However, some are only partially corrugated having smooth bottoms.  Three Circle Neck Corrugated has only what the name implies, neck corrugations. Mimbres Corrugated has more area of the vessel being corrugated.

VARIETIES:

Corrugations can be left plain or can be smoothed, rubbed or polished. Corrugation can cover the upper one-third, one-half, or the entire surface of jars.
