TYPE: Papago Black-on-Buff

DATE: A.D. -1700 to 1860

KEY DIFFERENCES: Black designs painted on a buff background.

COMMON DESIGNS: Curvilinear and rectilinear designs.

SLIP OR SURFACE TREATMENT: Polished, or thin white to buff slipped.

TEMPER: Sand and/or mica-schist.

COMMENTS: Dates are believed to be the same as Papago Red-on-Buff. Rare type, only one example is currently known.
