TYPE: Playas Red Variant

DATE:  A.D. 700 to 1660 (Rakita and Raymond, 2003;160)

 

1Y Playas Red and White Seedjar that once was a basket effigy.

This vessel has a red slipped bottom, above that it was white slipped,

then red slip applied over the white at the top.

Approximate Dimensions: 7 " by 5"

 

   

2N Playas Red Variant Olla with a smudged black top.

This bichrome mostly red vessel

appears to have been intentionally made with

a smudged black top that resembles Ramos Black.
